The latest design of the Max Coupler, 100-5, has the flared wings and a cradle to help align and link the vehicle and trailer ends of the coupler.
The simple, yet effective design of the Max Coupler is built to function in all situations you may encounter on your adventures, and stay completely quiet throughout its cycles. This allows you to focus on the trail ahead and not be distracted by any clunking noises that leave you wondering if your trailer is still securely attached.
The coupler is CAD designed and run through computer modeled stress analysis. Backed by real world testing and DOT Certified in accordance to SAE J684 standards by an independent testing facility.
The Max Coupler is a Class III coupler rated at 6000 lbs and is suitable for on and off highway usage.

I started on my own trailer with a Pentil style which I discovered was a bad idea on the highway especially with a heavy load with my 4x5. The Max Coupler is absolutely perfect. No trailer sway and it's excellent crawling over rocks to receive the benefits of the needed trail articulation. It just works! Solid welds and construction and my only disappointment is that I should have bought one when I bought my trail trailer.

Very well built and has a grease fitting! Should last forever.

This is a very nice and well built coupler. I used it for the first time last weekend on a camping trip and it is EXTREMELY quiet compared to the old ball hitch I was using. At first I thought it was a bit pricey but bit the bullet and I'm very glad that I did...you will be too!

I pull a small off-road tent-trailer behind my Jeep, and before I received my Max Coupler, the ball/hitch connection was noisy, and I didn't feel terribly secure with it on some of the trails and roads I frequent. When I received my Max Coupler, I was amazed at how quiet and solid the whole connection is! I have to keep looking back to make sure my trailer is still behind me because I can't hear the ball or tube connections making any noise, even on the bumpiest, roughest dirt roads and trails! The best part is that I can pull my trailer through areas now that would have challenged the ball hitch connection to the point of binding. No more worries! Cheap? No. Worth it? ABSOLUTELY!

I made my own version but ended up opting to use yours. Great design and works extremely well.

Really well built. I was going to make one myself in the shop, but for $250.-, they've already road tested these and will save me the time!!!
